Having displayed a prototype MXT at the 2008 British International Motor Show, the enthusiastic reception by press and public encouraged Mastretta to complete approvals and initiate production in time to deliver the first RHD cars early in 2009. Unfortunately, just as we were starting out, the credit crisis overtook the motor industry so with car sales depressed and multinational manufacturers in serious difficulty it seemed wiser to make haste slowly.
Like all of you, including the many economic experts, we have been trying to predict the upturn and a return of consumer confidence. In the end we decided that our new objectives will be to complete European Low Volume approval by autumn 2009 and launch in Spring 2010.
Those who reserved build slots through either Newhall Cars or Trimar Sports Cars
have had their deposits refunded but will be offered the opportunity to top our order list when it reopens.
